Patch Ironing Instructions

Although it is possible to iron the patches with a home iron, it is strongly recommended that you use a commercial heat pressing machine such as the one pictured above. Commercial heat presses are able to control temperature and pressure; most household irons cannot. Most t-shirt printing shops have a heat pressing machine and can provide this service for a small fee.

Place the shirt on the iron and measure the placement of the patch carefully. You may want to iron the shirt beforehand so that it is smooth before ironing on the patch. Be sure to let the shirt cool off completely before placing the patch on it. Set the temperature of the iron to 165 degrees celsius and, after covering the patch with Tefflon or a thin cloth, press for twelve seconds.

DO NOT iron the patch without placing a sheet of Tefflon paper or a thin cloth
(like a pillowcase or a thin cotton tshirt) on top of it. Pressing a hot iron directly on
the patch can damage the patch and your shirt.
